“It is what you read when you don’t have to that determines what you will be when you can’t help it.” Oscar Wilde
Mr. Wilde summarized what I am gonna elaborate in the coming article in the simplest yet wisest of ways possible. I am a writer and hence reading is a must for me. But I was not always a writer but I have been a reader since the time I could read. The one thing that this fast paced life has stolen from people is enjoying the things that require patience or sitting down for a longer time. We have become so habitual to moving that stagnation is a sin for us; both in life and thoughts. But I am here to tell you that as with movement, staying still, is also something which we need to learn. Reading helps you to do that and many more things.

Have you seen the new lately? Too much violence and hatred all around. That’s because in the race to be great we are ready to do anything. We are humans and the most important quality we possess is empathy. But in the race, we are slowly losing it. But when you read you go through this emotion time and again whenever your favorite character is suffering. This is the key to unlocking your empathetic side.
